Artist: N*E*R*D*
Album: Seeing Sounds
‘Seeing Sounds’ is the third album by genre-bending trio NERD. A more cosmic sounding album compared to their last (‘Fly Or Die’), this is an aural treat for the listener. Combining textures and layers to a whole range of influences, from hip hop, RnB to rock and electro, this is the group’s most audacious record. Includes the singles ‘Spaz’ and ‘Everybody Nose’.

Artist: Ashanti
Album: The Declaration
Beginning her career as a featured back-up singer on tracks by Jah Rule, Jennifer Lopez, Big Pun, and a host of other Irv Gotti/Murder Inc. projects, Ashanti’s solo career exploded upon the release of her self-titled Murder Inc. debut, which topped the Billboard charts the week of its release. Various award nominations and wins later, the singer released CHAPTER II, which also debuted at number one. The juggernaut that was her career slowed just a bit for the release of 2004′s CONCRETE ROSE, but film and television work, as well as song writing and producing credits kept her firmly fixed in the spotlight, and solidified her position as one of the most powerful women in hip-hop and R&B.

Artist: Usher
Album: Here I Stand
Multi-million selling RnB superstar Usher returns with the follow up to 2004′s ‘Confessions’. ‘Here I Stand’ contains a range of diverse sounds, from club hits to slower paced love songs. Usher is certainly one of the brightest talents of his genre and is backed up here with production duties from the likes of Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Jermaine Dupri And T-Pain. Singles include ‘Love In This Club’.

Artist: Taio Cruz
Album: Departure
Taio Cruz, one of the UK’s best kept musical secrets, looks set to step into the limelight with his debut album ‘Departure’. The singer/songwriter/musician/producer, dubbed the ‘new Babyface’ by none other than super hit-maker Dallas Austin, has spent the last few years working and living in America where he has honed his myriad skills.

Artist: Jay Sean
Album: My Own Way
‘My Own Way’ is the second album by British RnB star Jay Sean. Mixing slick RnB, hip hop and desi beats, this album picks up where 2004′s debut ‘Me Against Myself’ left off. Production duties are undertaken by Rishi Rich, Timbaland, Brian McKnight and The Underdogs amongst others. This is a fresh and confident follow up and includes the singles ‘Ride It’ and ‘Maybe’.

Artist: Kelly Rowland
Album: Ms. Kelly: Deluxe Edition
After the breakup of the phenomenally successful Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland kept a relatively low profile, at least compared to group-mate Beyonce, whose celebrity status as a solo artist cast a big shadow. Rowland cast some shadows of her own, however, with 2007′s MS. KELLY, a wholly satisfying showcase for the singer’s particular take on contemporary R&B. Cameos from Eve, Snoop Dogg, and Tank keep the energy high, but MS. KELLY is Rowland’s show through and through. With equal attention to both thumping club tracks (the album’s lead-off single “Like This”) and smooth, downtempo balladry (“The Show”), this solo effort pushes Rowland into some well-deserved limelight. This deluxe edition also includes bonus remixes.

Album: Souljaboytellem.com
Propelled by the staggering success of his infectious lead single, ‘Crank That’, the 17-year-old Chicago MC known as Soulja Boy presents his debut album ‘SOULJABOYTELLEM.COM’. Largely self-produced (Mr. Collipark contributes a few beats), Soulja Boy’s first full-length effort is stacked with neck-snapping drum-tracks, zooming synthesizers, and call-and-response hooks that follow ‘Crank That’s formula for success. From ‘Snap And Roll’ to ‘Let Me Get Em’ to ‘Donk’ to ‘Booty Meat’, it’s clear that Soulja’s objective is to put out as many dance-craze anthems as the clubs can handle.
